Nightwatch for Agents (the iPhone app, its widgets) and Nightwatch Relay (the Mac app) are made by one independent developer, sungmin Hong. This page explains what data they handle. In short: we don’t collect personal data, we don’t track you, and there’s no account.

What stays between your devices

Nightwatch Relay runs on your Mac and receives status updates from Claude Code and Codex: session titles, project folder names, status, the current tool and command, task list progress, and permission prompts. It serves them to your paired iPhone over your own network or tailnet. The connection is encrypted with TLS, and the phone accepts only your Mac’s own certificate. This data never passes through our servers.

On the phone, the app keeps the latest sessions and its relay connection details (including an access token) on the device, in its app group storage and keychain, so the widgets and Live Activity can show them.

Lock Screen updates (push service)

When the app is closed, iOS can only update the Lock Screen Live Activity through Apple Push Notification service, and Apple requires those updates to be signed by the app’s developer. So Nightwatch uses a small push service we run on Cloudflare:

• The iPhone app sends its Live Activity push token to the service and gets back a key that only works for that token.
• Your Mac’s relay sends each Live Activity update (the same session information shown on your Lock Screen: project names, statuses, the current tool line, and the tool name of a pending prompt) with that key. The service checks it, signs it and passes it straight to Apple.
• The service doesn’t store updates, push tokens or keys, and doesn’t log their contents. Cloudflare may process standard request metadata, such as IP addresses, to operate and protect the service.

You can avoid the push service entirely by turning off Live Activity in the app’s Settings; the app still works while it’s open.

What we don’t do

• No accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking.
• No selling or sharing of data.
• The website loads no third-party scripts, fonts or trackers.

Deleting your data

Everything lives on your own devices. Disconnect in the app’s Settings, or delete the app, to remove it from the phone. On the Mac, quit Nightwatch Relay and delete ~/.standby-relay.

Children

Nightwatch is a developer tool and isn’t directed at children.
